THE CHURCH

IPR was officially born on January 26, 2020, located at Rua Gaúcho, 127, in Jardim Itatiaia. Its purpose is to be a dynamic church, composed of small interconnected communion groups, where each member of the Body of Christ is stimulated, cared for, encouraged and edified to express in the use of their talents and spiritual gifts the manifold grace of God. His ecclesiastical model replaces schedules with relationships. Events give rise to encounters where Christ is the center and the communion of Christians in affinity groups encourages mutual participation and mutual care.

To be a historic sign of the Kingdom of God

The desire to express a contemporary Christianity was born in the heart of Pastor Sérgio Fernandes even in the times when he faithfully served the Belém Ministry of the Assemblies of God. Confronted by the weight of tradition and witnessing the countless opportunities lost by the denomination in the name of its religious tradition, he made the option of amicably detaching himself from this flock and starting a project where such elements, irrelevant to Christianity, could be left in the background in the name of of a lively Christian action with a profound religious and social impact.

We are Reformed , because we are a community of Christians who are reforming their faith according to Holy Scripture and identified with the Protestant Reformation, the Five Solas and the doctrines of grace.

Pentecostals

We are Pentecostals because we believe that there is an initial Spirit-filled experience, distinct from conversion, that must be repeated throughout the Christian life and in the continuity of spiritual gifts in the community experience of the church.

church

We are Church , because we believe in the need for community life with other disciples for the realization of God's plan with His people.

reformed pentecostalism

Reformed Pentecostalism is not the same as Continuist Calvinism. Although the differences between the positions are small, it is important to highlight them to clarify brothers who came to us through the excellent reformed content that is available today on the internet.

What is the similarity between Reformed Pentecostals and Continuist Calvinists?

  • We believe in the doctrines of grace

  • We believe in Covenant Theology

  • We believe in the Presbyterian governance of the local church

  • We follow the principles of the five soles

  • we are amillennialists

What is the difference between Reformed Pentecostals and Continuing Calvinists?

  • we are credobaptists

  • We believe in the continuity of spiritual gifts and in a distinct experience of the initial filling of the Spirit, which we call "baptism in the Spirit" and that after this experience, Christians must seek new and recurring fillings  to live for the glory of God as they witness the gospel of Christ to the nations.

  • We believe in worship divinely ordained in Scripture and we practice it in the context of our meetings, but we do not strictly follow the document Regulating Principle of Worship.

  • We understand in the light of Scripture that properly presided over by biblically qualified male ministers, women can participate in worship by preaching and teaching publicly.

There are among our members Christians from many different traditions, all peacefully reforming their faith, worshiping the Lord Jesus in unity and celebrating the sufficient salvation He provides for us by faith in His Name!
